5 key pointer on hunting a job abroad based on my personal experience

A new Country, new challenges, new people with a completely new way of life and Culture. If all this has still not puzzled you, then finding a right Job Abroad or overseas will surely get you Clued-in.

Finding a job in a new country can be a nightmare if you ponder over the thought “How and where do I begin from?“ Perhaps it’s important to realize that, hunting a job abroad outside of your home country is sometimes difficult, but not impossible.

Here are 5 key pointers on hunting a job abroad based on my personal experience:

Networking is the Key!!

Unless you build your social circle its quite difficult to understand the work culture Abroad and the whereabouts of how things work. And don’t be surprised if you find localities still struggling to find the right job. Tap your network so that they can give you a heads up if there are requirements in their area of work or the Jobs in demand so that you can gear up to acquire those skills and get hired.

Localize yourself!!

For countries like China, Germany, Malaysia etc, employers lookout for candidates who are familiar with the local language which is the officially used language in most of the job profile. Well for all you techies out there don’t worry, we only speak in 0’s and 1’s. Hence, it won’t be of any use either unless u need to shop groceries from a local store!!

Perfect your Skill-set:

Research is the key aspect of this. Understand the industry trends for jobs that are in high demand and then get trained in those fields so that you have higher chances to get the job. Training and Certifications will surely fetch you faster results and will have good visibility in your CV. And who can deny the fact that if there is a requirement of a particular skill set it hardly matters if you are an Asian, African or an English.

Know the foreign media:

Choosing the right channel to apply for jobs is very critical since it could either make or break your chances of getting noticed. In an overseas country like USA, UK, Malaysia as well as the Middle East, most of the employers/consultancies use the Internet as a primary mode to post job openings unlike newspapers/magazines in most of the countries.

Surprisingly you may end up registering for a number of job search engines to get yourself noticed by the recruiters. Alas, that spams your inbox with plenty of emails for job openings even for the ones you haven’t applied.

Patience really matters:

Most often we come across situations where we meet all the requirements for a job but still
might take months to find one. Having said that there are various other options as well to consider that you might want to do in your free time that may add wings to your feather.
