Requirements for Frontend Engineering Intern Job Opening at Fold:

• You’ve built and maintained web apps before. Since your work at Fold will be focused on the Fold web app, performance benchmarking, and its maintenance, having similar prior experience is a big plus.
• Are a fast learner. Our tech stack will grow with time, so you need to be able to learn on the go and built solutions quickly.
• You thrive in fast-paced environments. Joining in at an early stage involves a lot more than just coding an app. You’ll be working in often fast-paced environments, and involved in product and business decisions as well.
• Should work in teams. You can hold your ground and don’t need constant oversight but can also collaborate and work with more people whenever necessary.
• Must work within business constraints. You understand how companies work and make the correct tradeoffs between time, speed, and features whenever required.
• You love to give back to the community through blogging, mentoring, and contributing to open source.

Responsibilities:

• You’ll primarily work on building new user-facing features & components for the Fold platform.
• You’ll work with the design team and turn their designs into prototypes, keeping time, usability, aesthetics, and user experience in mind.

• Our frontend tech stack consists of Javascript, HTML, CSS, Next.js, Tailwind, Zustand, and many other open-source tools as well.

Our recruitment process:

1. Introduction: Get on an introductory call with us. We’ll talk about your interests, your past experience, our vision of the future, and how you can contribute and help us achieve it.
2. Take-home exercise: We’ll send over an application development challenge, which you’ll have to complete and send back in 72 hours.
3. Pair programming: If we like your submission, we’ll invite you to an interview with one of our engineers (strictly no whiteboarding), with whom you’ll be pair-programming on a real-world problem.
