Responsibilities for the Data Analyst Intern Job Opening at Varaha:

• Querying and managing databases (PostgreSQL) to extract and prepare data for analysis.
• Assisting in cleaning, preprocessing, and analyzing large-scale structured and unstructured datasets.
• Performing exploratory data analysis to identify trends and patterns that support product development and business decisions.
• Developing and maintaining data processing scripts and automation workflows using Python.
• Creating data visualizations, dashboards (using Looker Studio, Power BI), and reports to communicate findings effectively to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Collaborating with team members to translate product requirements and business questions into data-driven analysis and insights.
• Supporting the team by documenting data sources, queries, and analysis results for clarity and reproducibility.

Requirements qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s (B.Tech) or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Information Systems, or a related quantitative field from a recognized institution.
• Proficiency in SQL and experience with relational databases, specifically PostgreSQL.
• Hands-on experience with database management tools (e.g., DBeaver, pgAdmin) and BI/visualization tools (e.g., Looker Studio, Power BI).
• Strong foundational knowledge of Python programming, particularly for data manipulation and analysis (experience with Pandas and NumPy is essential).
• Solid understanding of fundamental statistical concepts.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to document work clearly.

Bonus Points

• Prior experience working with geospatial datasets.
• Exposure to machine learning concepts and libraries (e.g., Scikit-learn).
• A demonstrated interest in climate change, agriculture, or environmental science.
• Experience participating in data analysis competitions or personal projects showcased on platforms like GitHub.
