Responsibilities For GET Intern Job Opening at News Corp

• Monitor security information and event management (SIEM) tools and other security platforms for signs of potential threats or suspicious activities.
• Help in performing vulnerability scans and assessments of IT infrastructure, identifying security weaknesses, and recommending mitigation strategies.
• Assist in the investigation and analysis of security incidents, including data breaches, malware infections, and other cyber threats.
• Aid in the development and revision of cybersecurity policies, standards, and procedures to enhance the organization’s security posture.
• Stay updated on the latest cybersecurity trends, threats, and best practices, and provide insights to the team.
• Document findings from assessments, incident investigations, and research. Assist in maintaining logs and records of cybersecurity events.
• Support the development and delivery of cybersecurity awareness training for employees.
• Participate in internal and external security audits and help prepare reports based on the findings.
• Should possess knowledge of Vulnerability Assessment and Penetration Testing process and tools.

Skills Required to be successful in this role 

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Cyber Security, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Familiarity with key cybersecurity concepts, including firewalls, encryption, threat detection, offensive and defensive mechanisms and network security,
• Basic knowledge of operating systems (Windows, Linux), networking, and common security tools (e.g., antivirus software, intrusion detection/prevention systems).
• Demonstrated interest in cybersecurity and a willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
• High level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail.
• Familiar with scripting or programming languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell).
• Any prior internship, coursework, or project experience in cybersecurity or IT is advantageous.
