Responsibilities Of Multiple Job Openings at Synchrony
API Engineer 1
- Build Microservices, MFE’s & API’s leveraging cloud technologies with high quality and sound design principles
- Manage DevOps pipelines for Microservices, MFE’s & API’s
- Analyze production defects, troubleshoot systems, identify root cause and implement fixes
- Work with third party vendors to develop software and/or integrate their software into our products
- Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned
- Participate in Agile scrums with cross-functional teams
- Participate in Agile sprints including story writing, planning, daily standups, backlog grooming sessions and reviews
- Participate in SAFe ceremonies
- Provide on-call support
- Analyze production defects, troubleshoot systems, identify root cause and implement fixes
Quality Engineer I
- QE Automation Engineer will have complete ownership for preparing test automation solution, designing automation frameworks and lead the implementation of test strategy, test plans & test execution of the product..
- Help teams in building/enhancing test automation solutions working closely with product roadmap and stories, developers, and the customer in an agile development practice
- Participate in full testing life cycle, including agile ceremonies, test case identification/development, development of test automation framework, functional testing, and user acceptance testing.
- Help create test estimates and plans. Represent testing team in project meetings and solution discussions
- Ensure high standards of availability, scalability, and extensibility of internally developed test automation assets and frameworks
- Work closely with an experienced staff comprising both Synchrony resources and/or 3rd party contractors
- Communicate the status of testing status and initiatives to stakeholders and leadership
- Keep abreast of emerging testing technologies and techniques while maintaining proficiency in existing technologies
Web Engineer I
- Build new web solutions/platforms and enhancements, working closely with requirements analysts, testers, and the customer in an agile development practice
- Responsible for the development of mission critical web applications / services
- Ensure application quality and adherence to performance requirements
- Responsible for documentation, code reuse, re-factoring and design patterns standards compliance
- Ensure of internally developed applications are built with high standards of availability, scalability, and extensibility
- Work closely with an experienced staff comprising both Synchrony resources and vendor technical engineers
- Communicate the status of build projects and other initiatives to stakeholders and leadership
- Keep abreast of emerging technologies while maintaining proficiency in existing technologies
Software Engineer I

Requirements For Multiple Job Openings at Synchrony
API Engineer 1
- Technical Expertise in Java, Spring Projects – Spring Boot, Spring Framework, React JS, Spring Cloud, Git, Maven, REST and SOAP
- Understanding of Agile application development and familiarity with tools like JIRA
- Understanding how to write unit, integration and e2e tests using frameworks like Junit, Mockito, Spring Test
- Understanding of continuous integration environments and using tools like Jenkins
- Strong desire to develop high quality code with ability to review and leverage quality check tools like Sonar, PMD etc.
- Ability to quickly learn new technologies and frameworks
- Ability to analyze, use structured problem solving and available tools to troubleshoot systems, identify root cause, action plans, impact and resolution options
Quality Engineer I
- Understanding of Java and Web applications
- Knowledge in GUI, API/Webservices/Database automated testing
- Knowledge in preparing automation framework with parallel execution (either on-prem or cloud) with various test types, integrated with CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with Selenium based automation and its eco-system (TestNG/Junit, Maven/Gradle, Cross-browser test etc.)
Web Engineer I
- Knowledge on Java and front-end technologies including frameworks like Spring, React etc.
- Superior oral and written communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Software Engineer I
- Experience in Case management and Business Process Management solution development using ACM
- Knowledge on Java and front-end technologies including frameworks like Spring, React etc.
- Willing to work flexible shift timings to be able to respond to emergencies
- Superior oral and written communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Education and other attributes
API Engineer 1
- Bachelor’s Degree with 0-2 years of experience in Technology, or in lieu of degree 2-4 years of experience in Technology
Quality Engineer I
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related degree with 0-2 years of professional web application development experience, OR in lieu of degree 2-4 years of professional web application development experience.
Web Engineer I
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related degree with 0-2 years of professional web application development experience, OR in lieu of degree 2-4 years of professional web application development experience
Software Engineer I
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related degree with 0-2 years professional web application development experience or in lieu of degree, High School Diploma/GED 0-2 years of professional web application development experience.
