Job Responsibility of Engineer Job Opening at American Express

• Understand business requirements to set functional specifications for reporting applications.
• Must be hands-on in PowerBI, DAX, Tableau, Power Query etc.
• Must be able to design data models that translates data into insightful knowledge by understanding business requirements in the context of BI.
• Hands on experience in writing basic to advance level of optimized queries using SQL.
• Knowledge and working experience in bigdata ecosystem and ability to write queries using HQL.
• Integrate data, alter data, and transform data for business intelligence.
• Should be able to connect and join multiple data sources to generate powerful data insights and visuals.
• Should be able to contribute individually without much technical support.
• Should be able to maintain and enhance existing BI dashboards.

Required Qualification For Engineer Job Opening 

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science engineering, or a related field.
• Proven hands-on experience in BI dashboard (PowerBI, DAX, Tableau, Power Query etc.) development or similar role.
• Detailed knowledge and understanding of Relational Databases.
• Understanding of data and ability to transform and represent in BI dashboards.
• Comprehensive understanding of data modeling, administration, and visualization.
• Proven experience querying large sets of data and deriving insights.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Skill

• Knowledge and understanding of ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) framework.
• Bigdata and related ecosystem, tools and technologies. Ability to handle huge volume of data & ability to transform to derive business insights.
• Good knowledge of any public cloud environment preferably Google Cloud.
• Knowledge on various GCP data and BI related services like BigQuery, Looker etc.
• Hands on experience with Python, Pyspark and ETL
