Job Description for Trainee Software Engineer Job Opening at izmo ltd. 

• Develop new or amended features, bug fixes and carries out other tasks as required to achieve business goals.
• Learn our platform, our codebase and our engineering processes
• Collaborate closely with all team members to take a shared responsibility for the sprint backlog and the team’s success.
• Work cross-functionally to convert business needs into technical specifications.
• Maintain broader code quality through peer code reviews.
• Assist with live releases in line with the team’s release schedule.
• Build efficient, testable, and reusable modules / User Interfaces
• Approach work from an Agile mindset applying practices and principles wherever possible. Attend and participate in all Sprint events to achieve desired outcomes.
• Responsible for estimation, sprint planning and managing all their own tasks and reporting on progress.
• Help build features for software that works with large data sets
• Develop internal APIs and client-facing interfaces

Preferred Skills

• 0 to 1 year of experience in PHP development with good knowledge of Symfony, or Laravel frameworks.
• Strong knowledge of PHP & OOPs.
• Good knowledge and understanding of PHP Design patterns.
• Basic understanding of front-end technologies, such as JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3
• Basic knowledge on WEB Servers Apache / NginX.
• Working knowledge on REST/SOAP web services.
• Working knowledge on SQL queries, Stored procedures, Triggers.
• Familiarity with MySQL databases and their declarative query languages
• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git
• Good understanding of branching, build, deployment, continuous integration methodologies.
• Good problem-solving skills, algorithmic skills and data structures.
• Good written and verbal communication skills in English
