Requirements (Must Have):

  • Self-motivated individual who actively seeks new challenges.
  • Capacity to learn new technologies/concepts rapidly and apply them to the needs of the lab.
  • Self-managing and self-motivating

Duties of an R&D Job Opening at Thermo Fisher Scientific:

  • Perform cell culture activities and laboratory techniques including aseptic handling and expansion of primary cells and immortal cell lines.
  • Initiate, plan, and execute scientific research with an emphasis on cell culture techniques.
  • Regular analysis of cell culture samples, including microscopy, cell counting, Mycoplasma testing/ QPCR/Western blot/ELISA, and other related tests.
  • To leverage automation to improve the throughput in the current processes.
  • Be responsible for calibration and preventative maintenance of assigned equipment. Documentation of these activities.

Nice to have skills:

  • Theoretical knowledge of cell culture basics like microscopic observation, cell counting, media preparation, aseptic handling, etc.
  • Strong understanding and hands-on expertise with culture techniques and handling cancer cell lines. The ideal candidate will have additional experience with protein biology, molecular biology, or other related disciplines.
  • Experience in primary and/or stem cell work will be an added advantage.

Duties of a Java Developer Job Opening at Thermo Fisher Scientific:

  • Provide programming knowledge in the analysis, design, and development of SAP reports, interfaces, conversions, business forms, and user exits
  • Develop and support interfaces to numerous legacy and third-party systems using a variety of techniques such as LSMW, BAPI, IDOC, RFC calls, BDC, and call transaction update methods
  • Follow the IT SDLC process
  • Utilization of debugging techniques
  • Write detailed user documentation of program functions
  • Cross team communication and collaboration
  • Participate in off-hours meetings
  • Engage with other project personnel to ensure business application systems are developed in a way that aligns with architectural standards and established methodologies and practices

Software requirements:

  • SAP ECC 4.7 and 6.0
  • 0 to 4 years SAP ABAP development experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge in the use of ABAP
  • Knowledge of BADI’s, BAPI’s, LSMW, ALE, RFC calls, IDOC, BDC, business objects, classes and methods, Adobe Forms, Smartforms, SAPScripts, Data Dictionary, ALV
  • Knowledge of implicit and explicit enhancements, screen exits, and menu exits
  • ABAP debugging knowledge
  • Understanding of several of the following modules: SD/SM, FI/CO, MM/PP, QM

Nice to have skills:

  • Knowledge of Workflow is beneficial
  • Having knowledge of NetWeaver 7.0 experience is beneficial
  • Knowing of BI is beneficial
  • Experience with other programming languages, such as Java, XML, is beneficial
