Job Responsibilities for Software Engineer Job Opening at Nokia:

New product introduction – work closely with architecture and ASIC teams to develop a new SDK for next-generation ASICs
Develop SDK API and algorithms
Define and execute SDK test plans and support the SW integrations
Be responsible for design documentation and work closely with ASIC and Optical architecture teams

Required Skills, Qualifications and Capabilities:

Requires a bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field and 0-2 years in the job offered or in software development in the communications industry.
0 to 2 years of stated experience include the following:
- Hands-on experience with ASIC SDK development (good to have)
- Hands-on experience with GIGE, OTN, or DSP (optional)
- Coding and debugging experience in C/C++ (must)
- Linux or similar RTOS experience (good to have)
- Hands-on experience in Embedded, device driver, and Protocol Software Design and Development (good to have)

Job Description :

Debug and ensure software quality through systematic testing.
Develop, modify, and execute test plans, automated scripts, and testing programs.
Analyze and document test results, recommend corrective actions, and maintain software functionality.
Collaborate with development engineers to resolve issues effectively.

Key Requirements and Skills:

C++ Expertise: Strong proficiency in C++ programming and Data Structures.
Operating Systems: Solid knowledge of Windows or Linux systems.
Debugging & Analysis: Skilled in using debuggers, memory analyzers, and solving technical issues.
Automation & Scripting: Experience with Python or other scripting languages to write automated test cases.
Continuous Integration: Familiarity with CI tools like Git and Jenkins.
SDK Testing: Capability to simulate customer customizations for thorough SDK testing.
Performance Testing: Experience in performance testing is a valuable addition.
Hardware Certification: Proven experience in testing and certifying components across multiple hardware configurations.
Initiative & Mentorship: Demonstrates initiative in improving testing methods, taking on new tasks, and mentoring team members.

The challenge

Testing in C++ for Printing and Scan Solutions.
Work towards test automation by developing new solutions, and maintaining existing test automation code.
Developing or adapting testing tools for functional area.
Test planning and test case execution.
Analyze test results and debug test failures.
For specific projects, communicate the test strategy, tactical execution plans, and test results to various functional groups.
Serve as the Quality team interface to Product Development team and Management.
