Use data exploration techniques to discover new questions or opportunities within your problem area and propose applicability and limitations of the data.

Engage with peer stakeholders to produce clear, compelling, actionable insights that influence product and service improvements that will impact millions of customers.
Participate in the peer review process and act on feedback while learning innovative methods, algorithms, and tools to increase the impact and applicability of your results.
Handle data at higher volume and efficiently process the data to solve the problem.
Understand existing code and functions, build solution on top and be able to integrate.

Roles:

Engage in and improve the whole lifecycle of services—from inception and design, through deployment, operation and refinement.
Analyze ITSM activities of the platform and provide feedback loop to development teams on operational gaps or resiliency concerns
Support services before they go live through activities such as system design consulting, capacity planning and launch reviews.
Maintain services once they are live by measuring and monitoring availability, latency and overall system health.
Scale systems sustainably through mechanisms like automation, and evolve systems by pushing for changes that improve reliability and velocity.
Support the application CI/CD pipeline for promoting software into higher environments through validation and operational gating, and lead Mastercard in DevOps automation and best practices.
Practice sustainable incident response and blameless postmortems.
Take a holistic approach to problem solving, by connecting the dots during a production event thru the various technology stack that makes up the platform, to optimize mean time to recover
Work with a global team spread across tech hubs in multiple geographies and time zones
Share knowledge and mentor junior resources

Qualification and Skills:

BS degree in Computer Science or related technical field involving coding (e.g., physics or mathematics), or equivalent practical experience.
Experience with algorithms, data structures, scripting, pipeline management, and software design.
Systematic problem-solving approach, coupled with strong communication skills and a sense of ownership and drive.
Ability to help debug and optimize code and automate routine tasks.
We support many different stakeholders. Experience in dealing with difficult situations and making decisions with a sense of urgency is needed.
Experience in one or more of the following is preferred: C, C++, Java, Python, Go, Perl or Ruby.
Interest in designing, analyzing and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems.
We need team members with an appetite for change and pushing the boundaries of what can be done with automation. Experience in working across development, operations, and product teams to prioritize needs and to build relationships is a must.
Also has experience in industry standard CI/CD tools like Git/BitBucket, Jenkins, Maven, Artifactory, and Chef.
Experience designing and implementing an effective and efficient CI/CD flow that gets code from dev to prod with high quality and minimal manual effort is desired.”

Job Description For SDET Job Opening at Microsoft:

Participate in product design reviews to provide input on functional requirements, product designs and schedules.
Collaborates with appropriate stakeholders to determine user requirements, design End to End scenarios and test plans.
Design and develop test automation tools and execute automation scripts.
Enable stakeholder communication by keeping relevant parties informed of important issues, create and improve on quality testing best practices.
Leverages subject-matter expertise of product features and partners with appropriate stakeholders (e.g., project managers) to drive a workgroup’s project plans, release plans, and work items.
Acts as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) and guides other engineers by developing and following the playbook, working on call to monitor system/product/service for degradation, downtime, or interruptions, alerting stakeholders about status and initiates actions to restore system/product/service for simple and complex problems when appropriate.
Proactively seeks new knowledge and adapts to new trends, technical solutions, and patterns that will improve the availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, and performance of products while also driving consistency in monitoring and operations at scale.

Basic Qualifications Required to be successful in this role :

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline with proven experience coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, or Python
- OR equivalent experience.
Excellence in software engineering practices, coding with strong testing, debugging and analytical skills.
Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
Proven ability to plan, schedule and deliver quality software.

Other Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
- Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science/
- related technical field AND 1+ year(s) technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, OR Python
- Master’s Degree in Computer Science or related technical field with proven experience coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, or Python
- OR equivalent experience.
Develop / specify standards, methods, procedures to determine product quality / release readiness.
Experience in building quality products and services preferably in distributed systems, systems programming.
Experience in Virtualization/Storage/Networking products.
