Job Description for Associate Engineer Job Opening at Caterpillar:
- The position is part of a Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) team, which is a part VPD with the responsibility to develop, benchmark, deploy, and support new or improved physics-based components in Dynasty to support Caterpillar product development.
- This includes defining requirements, conducting benchmarking, developing, and testing code in C++/Python, conducting design, test, and code reviews, and releasing high-quality software as per plan.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with engineering simulation software Matlab, Simulink and Simscape
- Knowledge of modeling and simulation of electric drive systems
- Demonstrated ability to balance multiple projects by working with global teams
- Demonstrated project leadership experience
- Excellent Verbal and Written Communication Skills
- Self-starter with an inquisitive mind
- Strong customer focus with the ability to work closely and deliver timely support
- Ability to work in teams as well as independently
